A small plane crashed on a busy street in São Paulo, Brazil’s largest city, on Friday, killing at least two people, according to local firefighters.

Two bodies were found in the wreckage of the aircraft, which crashed in the Barra Funda neighbourhood on the city’s west side, according to fire department spokesperson.

Debris from the aircraft hit a bus, injuring a woman inside, while another fragment hit a motorcyclist. Both of the victims have received medical treatment.

Images and videos shared on social media showed the plane in flames next to the damaged bus, with firefighters trying to control the fire.

The cause of the crash remains unclear, and authorities have launched an investigation. The incident has raised concerns over flight safety in the city, where small aircrafts frequently operate.
