Chinese New Year is celebrated around the world today. While London expects a record number of visitors from China, we want to take a look at the most popular Chinese dishes.

  1. Dumplings

Probably one of the most famous dishes from China. What most people probably do not know though is that Dumplings have a 1,800 year long history.


  1. Sweet and Sour Pork

Due to its popularity, this dish has undergone some modifications. At the beginning there was only the classic sweet and sour pork, but modern variations include chicken and beef.


  1. Ma Po Tofu

Fancy something hot and spicy? Ma Po Tofu is one of the most famous dishes in Chuan Cuisine. The dish consists of brownish red ground beef and green onions. This is mixed with milky tofu and spiced up with pepper powder.


  1. Shitake Fried Rice with Water Chestnuts

A vegetarian dish which is relatively easy to prepare. Rice, mushrooms and water chestnuts are the main ingredients you will need to prepare this. Something brilliant for a fast, tasty and filling meal.

5. Peking Duck

Last but not least the world famous Peking Duck. Its history roots back thousands of years to ancient China. While it used to be an imperial dish in the past, it was brought to regular restaurants in the late 1800s and conquered the world.
