American band, the Killers, have been announced as the final headliners of the British Summer Time festival . The event takes place in Hyde Park across two weekends at the beginning of July each year. They will join Justin Bieber, Kings of Leon and Green Day among the other headline acts.

Performing on Saturday 8th July, the Las Vegas band will feature support from Elbow, White Lies and Tears for Fears. Their slot has been billed as a “UK exclusive”, as they have shows planned in Denmark, Finland and other countries.

This year’s festival will also mark the return of Tears for Fears to London for the first time in 12 years.

James King, senior vice president at AEG Live, which organises the event, said: “London has always seen The Killers as one of their own and the city has played host to many many memorable concerts.”

“To have them back in the park with such strong support makes this a truly spectacular event for their fans on what will be a glorious return to Hyde Park.”

Although there are no clear tour plans for The Killers as of yet, they are due to release their fifth studio album this summer.
