A concern of contamination have been raised after river in Argentina turned red, with officials set to test the samples.

Residents near the river in Buenos Aires raised concerns about the incident.

One resident said: “I have lived here all my life. Today, we have this red water. It has been grey, it has been green, it has been violet….”

The region’s environment minister told media outlet La Nacion that samples would be analysed and they are working to find out what “is causing discolouration.”
