Russian forces have reached the northern suburbs of Kyiv, a day after Ukraine started being attacked on multiple fronts.
Many videos are circulating online of what residents say are Russian tanks on the streets, with heavy gunfire and explosions being heard throughout the city.
A televised statement from the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, appearing from an undisclosed location, stated that this is not only a conflict against Ukraine, but is waging “a war against Europe”, and condemned the countries for not doing enough.
In a recent tweet, Ukraine’s foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, compared the current attacks to those from Nazi Germany and urged for tougher sanctions on Russia.
Horrific Russian rocket strikes on Kyiv. Last time our capital experienced anything like this was in 1941 when it was attacked by Nazi Germany. Ukraine defeated that evil and will defeat this one. Stop Putin. Isolate Russia. Severe all ties. Kick Russia out of everywhete.

Meanwhile, Russia’s foreign minister, Sergei Larvov, stated that Moscow was ready to discuss the situation if Ukraine’s military surrendered, as Russia was only seeking to free Ukraine from “oppression” and not occupy it, according to The Guardian.
