A police officer has been praised after he apprehended a man who was brandishing a fake gun in Camden, north London.
An altercation happened this morning near Mornington Crescent at 7.38am. The Metropolitan Police said a lone motorcycle officer was pursuing a car after it failed to stop.
After the car crashed, the man exited the vehicle and the officer drew his taser. The man then pulled from his waistband what appeared to be a black handgun and pointed it directly at the officer.

As seen in the video posted to social media, this did not deter the officer and he continued to apprehend the man.
The Met have commended the officer’s behaviour as “nothing short of incredible”.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm. The policeman was reportedly unharmed following the incident.
Having seized the weapon the police now believe that it is a replica firearm.
