The 92nd Academy Awards will take place on 9th February at the renowned Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard .
The event will kick off with coverage off the red carpet at 11:30 PM GMT and can be streamed live from the Academy’s official Twitter account. The main ceremony then starts at 01:00 GMT and can be watched live on Sky Cinema.
Who are the nominees?
Todd Phillips’ thriller Joker and Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood are the two leading productions at this year’s ceremony. Joker is leading with eleven nominations, including Best Director for Phillips, Best Lead for Joaquin Phoenix and Best Picture. Joker is closely followed by Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood with 10 nominations.
After announcing the nominees, the Academy has again been criticised for its mostly white hopefuls and recurring lack of diversity. Cynthia Erivo is the only non-white actor nominated in the leading categories for her performance in Harriet.
Additionally, Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite was also nominated for six Oscars, which makes it the first South Korean film to be nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best International Feature Film.

Who will win?
There are several predictions when it comes to who will win the prestigious award. Phoenix’s disturbingly raw performance in Joker is believed to win best performance, but is, however, in a close head-to-head run with Adam Driver for his performance in Marriage Story. 1917 Director Sam Mendes has won the Golden Globe for Best Picture, which has raised confidence in him probably winning the Oscar as well.
Who will host the show?
This year’s ceremony will follow the footsteps of last year’s. There will be no designated host for the event. Instead, the event will be hosted by several different personalities.
